Wasn't the whole "Al Gore (says he) invented the internet" a right wing beat up ?
Or is he really that arrogant and clueless ?
I've never worked him out (partly becuase I don't really care)...

"Despite the derisive references that continue even today, Al Gore did not claim he "invented" the Internet, nor did he say anything that could reasonably be interpreted that way. The "Al Gore said he 'invented' the Internet" put-downs were misleading, out-of-context distortions of something he said during an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "Late Edition" program on 9 March 1999."
However, Gore has actually received the Internet Achievement Award for his contributions! But no, he has never actually claimed to be the inventor of the Internet but should get some credit.
Just a bit of snark. If people believe that Gore claimed that he invented the Internet, I can imagine they would believe this as well.
